Bernie Sanders Calls for Nationwide Ban on Fracking

Home

Bernie Sanders doubled down on his stance on fracking ahead of the New York primary this week, advocating for a nationwide ban with a new campaign advertisement and a speech in upstate New York.

Sanders pointedly criticized Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton for her stance on fracking and other environmental issues and his ad once again targeted fossil fuel donations to candidates, saying “Washington politicians side with polluters over families.”

Sanders also linked fracking to climate change and water and air pollution. Clinton also took a few swings at Sanders this week, challenging his ability to answer questions on core issues related to his campaign, including finance and foreign policy.
