Last month on EcoWatch, we featured the Wide Path Camper, a bicycle camper created by a Danish company that allows you to tour the country on your two legs. Compared to motorized campers, it’s a real bargain at $4,000.

Paul Elkins has been in love with micro-camping, as its called, since he first toured the country in his cabover “stealth camper” in 2002. Elkins was certain he could build something more affordable than the current available models, so this year, he built his nomadic micro-shelter based on the Airstream design.

Elkins even has 50-page, step-by-step downloadable instructions on how to build your very own nomad bicycle camper.
